Lehman Caves

In the Great Basin N.P. we took a tour of Lehman Caves - well known for it's rare formations, especially these shield ones below.

Back in the 1920s they would hold wedding receptions and parties in some of the rooms in the caves. Someone wrote their name on one of the formations and it's still there like it was written yesterday.

For obvious reasons, these ones are called cave bacon.

These formations that go from the ceiling and touch formations rising from the floor are called columns. Here's a pretty cool view of the inside.

Who would want to have a wedding reception in a creepy cave? I hope they at least dressed it up a little bit.
