I Still Have Hobbies - Even Without Free Time
I've recently learned how to knit. My first project was a wool "soaker" like is pictured above. (Basically a diaper cover.) Unfortunately, I did not check my gauge so the end project ended up being *almost* big enough for ME to wear. This red and white one was my second project, and I would call it a success.
I am currently working on my third - a doll. It will probably take me months to complete. Whenever I am knitting around Millie, she takes to the ball of yarn like a kitten. It ends up getting all tangled - so I have to knit while she's asleep. Makes for slow project completion. When I finish, I'll be sure to post a picture.

Wow that is so awesome.. And in the bottom picture she looks a lot like her big sister to me... well what i see in pictures atleast :)
That is SUPER, Jen! Can we get together in the evenings sometime and knit together? I need more practice and I need to make more time for that hobby. Can't wait for the doll. Did you see the little freebie doll pattern that is much smaller? I'll send you that link.
VERY VERY CUTE JENNIFER!!! LOVE THAT MILLIE'S FACE! Kiss it for me - will ya???
When did your baby get so big, Jenny? What a doll. And I love the striped diaper cover.
I love it! I've been thinking of making some wool soakers out of wool sweaters.
That looks AWESOME! I've never tried knitting...it looks too complicated. I did try crocheting an afghan while I was on my mission, but I kept getting headaches from focusing so much on what I was doing. So now I just have a really loooooong scarf tucked away in a box in the garage, just waiting for it to get cold enough here to use it. Yeah, like that's gonna happen! Very cute diaper cover, though!!
Jen, great work. I don't know how you fit in the time, but I'm glad you did. I bought a book, a thing of yarn and some needles to teach myself to knit. After a couple days I gave up. I totally ignored my kids and let EVERYTHING go b/c I was so into it. Now is definitely not my time. . . one day though. :) Maybe for my grandkids! HA!
Okay Jen. Time to post the projects you are making. I am dying to see that DOLL. By the way - are we taking votes of what gender your baby will be? I vote for GIRL. (afterall - you are making a dolly) ???
Let me finish the second leg (I'm close) and then I'll post my progress. BUT - the doll is for Millie, not the new baby. ;)
