Guess Who Came to Visit
Uncle Joey! My 18 year old brother (VERY soon to be 19) brought two of his BYU roommates on a little road trip and camped out at my house for a few days. They hung out at the beach, went to Magic Mountain, saw a few movies at our dollar theater, and went to a concert. We found out that he has good taste in friends. His roommates were really respectful and totally nice to our kids. Ryan adored them all and wanted to do everything with them. Katie was also very quick to warm up. It was nice to see her act just like herself even though there were new people around. I keep telling my Dad to come and visit so that he can get to know Katie in her own surroundings. After this visit from Joey, I am TOTALLY convinced that is true. We weren't much for entertaining the guys, but we were glad that they came.

Seriously - the first thing Joey did when he walked in the door from being in California - was sit in the chair. Then he couldn't wait to tell us how darling and nice Katie was. Yes - he used those words. He smiled as wide as can be - turned a little flush and seemed so surprised. I am not exaggerating. I felt the same way when I went to visit. Katie is a doll and is really sweet and nice. This family thinks that Katie is attached to Jenny's hip and doesn't want anyone to even look at her. Nope. She grew up. Jenny - I am on my way in July!!!
Okay, that is bologna! I did not flush and I was not being as giddy as a schoolgirl and she makes me sound. I was getting excited with mom to make her feel good. I'll admit I was pleasantly surprised that she was such a great fun little girl.
