HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY RYAN!
I wanted so badly to wake Ryan up singing Happy Birthday, so when I woke up before him I tiptoed out of the room to make him some green eggs and toast. I had just warmed up the pan when he came strolling out into the kitchen. Darn! I had to take him back in the bedroom and have Derek read him a story or two while I brought him a "birthday surprise". He was a good sport and loved blowing out the candles.

We read him his cards from Grandma and Grandpa and some of his uncles and aunts while he ate. Grandma sent him 3 dollars - lucky!!

He opened up the two presents from Grandma and Grandpa (snakes, lizards, and frogs, and some "magic" towels that grow in water). He is pretty good about being grateful for presents and said, "Thank you grandma" - unfortunately she wasn't there to hear him.

After the breakfast in bed we gathered up the lizards, frogs, and snakes and put them in a container for him to carry around. Then we told him he had one more present in the living room. Whenever we asked him what he wanted for his birthday he'd say, "cake and bike". We got him a new little tricycle that is a great size for him. He doesn't quite know how to use the pedals, but he'll get it soon enough. He walked out and laughed a little and then the first thing he did was to open up the little storage "trunk" on the back of the bike and put all of his lizards and snakes and frogs inside. He rode that bike all over the neighborhood today (thanks to Derek's patience).

I made him some fudge (chocolate cake) and put some fruit through my champion juicer and made him ice cream. The fudge wasn't ready so he ended up just eating ice cream and didn't know the difference. Tomorrow though, we'll eat the "cake".
I love this kid!

His first birthday breakfast in bed, first bike, first plastic lizards and snakes. Kids just get funner as they grow older, don't they!?
Looks like you figured out how to post pictures through Picasa. Isn't it a dream?! Hopefully this means you'll be posting even more often. ;)
My only complaint with Picasa is that I can only blog 4 pictures. Then I have to go in and edit any more than that. Can you tell me how to do more than 4?
Hmmmmm... I didn't realize that until now. Let me see if I can figure anything out. That IS a bummer.
