Food Storage
Here's my first attempt at canning peaches. It turned out to be one of my favorite excuses to hang out with a good friend. Niki came over and taught me how to do it since I was completely clueless.
I ended up with 10 large jars and 15 small jars. Only 3 casualties - one broken jar and two that didn't seal. Overall, I'm SUPER happy and have caught the *canning bug*. I have lofty dreams of canning chunky applesauce, salsa, and chicken noodle soup. Food storage, here I come.

i know how you feel! i loved canning. BUT, since we moved away i gave ALL my canning stuff away. jars and all. oh, it makes me so sad now. oh wel.
Oh man those peaches look fantastic! I remember spending weekends with my family canning apple sauce every fall. One season I think we got 120 quarts or so, but that was with most of the Ashton Army. Good job Jenny!
Oooh, I did peaches for the first time a few weeks ago. I've only canned applesauce before and let me say, I LOVE canning peaches. I thought they were 100 times easier than apples.
Jenny - I have canned pears, tomatoes, pickles and relish. Let me know if you are interested in doing one of those any time soon. I personally miss the homemade relish. :-)
